Dr. Ghimire earned his MBBS from BVU (Binoba Vhabe University), India, and MD in Medical Oncology from Sun Yat-Sen University, China and carries an experience of more than 20 years in Medical Oncology. He has done a fellowship in Medical Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center (RGCIRC), New Delhi, India and National Cancer Institute (NCI), Bethesda, USA. He is a recipient of International Development and Education Award 2009 (IDEA) at Orlando and International Development and Education Award in Palliative Care 2011, (IDEA-PC) at Chicago from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He was also recognized as Global Cancer Ambassador from Nepal in 2011 by American Cancer Society (ACS) to raise cancer voice to put forward specific requests for the UN High-Level Meeting on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at United Nations.
